Pacemakers, "Trenta" and Renewal

A friend of our family recently had bypass surgery. Afterwards they installed a pacemaker and a defibrillator. He was struggling with light-headedness and his doctor advised that he could tap on his pacemaker. It would make the pacemaker think he was walking and get his blood pumping. Wow, what a trick!

In the news this week Starbucks is rolling out their new Trenta size, which means "thirty" in Italian (the drink is actually 31 ounces).

Amazingly 30% bigger than the Venti… Check out the diagram. The Trenta will simulate a pacemaker and defibrillator.

In our 40 Days of Renewal we’re seeking to be refreshed, revived and reinvigorated. We’ve got Starbucks in the cafĂ©, but we’re seeking renewal from God through daily prayer and reading through Psalm 119.

One person shared with me how they’ve been hanging out but never really prayed and don’t understand all this stuff, but they WANT TO! They are joining a 40 Days group to explore and to experience.

Another person told me of being stuck in his spiritual journey, after many years of doing well. He is experiencing new hope.

There are plenty of ways to get refreshed, many of them have been created by God. But there is one way He has given that is to be central in our lives. That’s what we’re looking for every day!

“The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes." Psalm 19:7-8 Message Version
